![]() The people at our "NEW" address (i.e., the apartment we were scheduled to move into at a FUTURE date) were evidently writing "not at this address and throwing it back in the mail or something, and it all vanished into oblivion after that. I guess I should have filed the change of address farther in advance of our move, but I was paranoid about doing so, because in a past move, the USPS started forwarding our mail instantaneously rather than waiting till the specified move date. (And of course, if we'd moved out of town instead of locally, we'd also be screwed.) As it is, it's just an annoying inconvenience that's getting more annoying with every passing day. Fortunately, the place is empty since we moved out and going to stay that way for a while, and the landlord hasn't asked for the mailbox or door keys back, so I still have full access, otherwise we'd be royally screwed. I've been running over to our old place to check the mailbox every day (except Sunday for obvious reasons), and all the mail is still going there. ![]() Once you put in a change of address with the USPS, how long is it supposed to take for mail to start getting forwarded? I ask this because we recently moved, and almost two weeks after putting in the address change, exactly NONE of our mail has been forwarded. I don't honestly know if this qualifies as truly bad service, but it IS a problem and it's bugging the crap out of me, so here goes. ![]()
